US president donald trump ordered two nuclear submarines to be deployed near Russia in an appropriate location on August 1 , 2025 .
This was caused because of "Provocative" statements from former russian president dmitry medvedev.
Medvedev is the deputy chairman of russian security council and was president of russia between 2008-2012.
This monday he said : " Trump's new sanctions are a game of ultimatums and a step towards war .... not just between russia and ukraine but directly between russia and the US"
In direct response to this .... Trump said: "Based on the highly provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev…, I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that. Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences"
The back story of these heightened statements between the two starts from last month (July) , when trump announced new sanctions on Russia because of its continuing war with ukraine.
In response to this .... medvedev warned trump of serious consequences which he responded by deploying two nuclear submarines near russia.
The exact location of submarines kept secret by the US military.
Now these nuclear submarines does not necessarily means that they carry nuclear weapons with them .... they can remain under water for much long distances without the need of fueling or battery changing .... so they can be positioned easily near russian waters.
For now ... according to most sources .... this act is symbolic and does not mean real war ... but tensions remain high !
